Gemstar® Biological Insecticide is the market leading NPV biological insecticide for the control of Helicoverpa spp. in Australia. Since its introduction in Australia in 1999, Gemstar® Biological Insecticide has established itself as the market leading biological NPV in a range of crops. Gemstar® LC Insecticide is a formulated form of the nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV) which affects the Helicoverpa genus only. Because Gemstar® Biological Insecticide only affects Helicoverpa spp., and natural predators are unaffected, it fits perfectly into IPM programs. It also has a low impact on the environment, has excellent crop safety and no MRL, which means the Gemstar® product can be used on a wide range of crops with no with-holding period. Sipcam Australia now has fresh stock of Gemstar® LC Biological Insecticide and is ready to take orders.
Sipcam General Manager, Damien Ryan, said that the distribution of Gemstar® Biological Insecticide in Australia is a sign of the position Sipcam now holds in the Australian market as a quality supplier of innovative products. Sipcam launched the patented fungicide Domark® in 2005 for powdery mildew control in grapes and also launched the patented pendimethalin formulation Panida® Grande earlier this year. Now, in conjunction with Certis, Sipcam will embark on a program of product development for Gemstar® Biological Insecticide.
“This is a another sign of the direction we are headed,”-, Mr Ryan said, “of not just being a high quality supplier of generic agrochemicals, but also offering a number of innovative technologies, in many cases patented, that distributors can differentiate with and add real value to their businesses.
